Chapter 175 - Character Introductions (Chapter Seven)

Introductions for the new characters appearing in Chapter Seven.

★★★★★★★

・Konrad

An honorary squire serving the Baronet Arqvist family. A dialogue mage. He is 10 years old at the time of his appearance.

Through the "Ritual of Blessing," it was discovered that he possessed a talent for dialogue magic. Despite having paths to serve larger noble houses or even the royal family, he deliberately chose to serve the Baronet Arqvist family.

His reasons are utterly human: "I want to live being pampered by the people around me and my childhood friend girls" and "Being hired by a small noble territory gives me a better feeling of being a one-and-only special talent." Conversely, Noein finds such straightforwardness and honesty appealing.

Once he actually started working, he was surprised by how plain his days were compared to his expectations, but with advice from the Head Squire Yuri, he is currently in the process of steadily gaining experience.

・Yakov

The son of Head Squire Yuri and Squire Mai. He is three years old at the point of Chapter Seven.

Since his father Yuri often works late into the night as the Head Squire, and his mother Mai is frequently stationed at the Women's Association office, he is mostly brought to the Women's Association office during the day, where he plays quietly in the corner of the room.

Perhaps because he is always watching the adults work, or perhaps due to his own talent, he is precocious for a three-year-old. While he appears quiet, he is thinking about various things internally.

For now, he is a talent sufficient to eventually succeed his father's position.

・Renette Koenitz

The fiancée → wife of Frederick, the heir to the Viscount Koenitz family. She is two years younger than Frederick.

Her father is Baron Mutzenrek, a military noble from the central part of the Kingdom. She was introduced to Frederick because he had been a subordinate of the Baron in the Kingdom's First Army Corps, and they subsequently married.

Having grown up in the royal capital, she is a woman who carries an urban atmosphere, possessing both the elegance and intellect befitting the next generation's Viscountess.

・Noah Wikander

The head of the Baron Wikander family. Currently in his mid-20s.

His wife Lory is Clara's older sister, making him a brother-in-law from Noein's perspective. Because the previous head retired early due to illness, he inherited the peerage at a young age, but he was met with the misfortune of having a village in a disputed area occupied by the Southwest Faction nobles early on.

By pleading for help from his father-in-law Arnold and having Noein sent as reinforcements, he successfully reclaimed the village and further brought a certain resolution to the border issues, thus establishing a reputation as a capable lord. In a way, he might be a lucky person.

・Lory Wikander

The wife of Baron Noah Wikander. Currently 21 years old (two years older than Clara).

Clara's older sister, and a sister-in-law to Noein. While the youngest child Clara has a quieter personality, Lory is more of a cheerful personality.

There is a background where, by having his daughter Lory marry into the Baron Wikander family, Arnold gained a pipeline to around the southern edge of the Northwest clique.

Though not depicted in the story, she is actually one of twin sisters, and the other has also married into another noble house.

・Bellad Adrau

The head of the Baronet Adrau family of the Southwest clique. A user of physical magic.

One of the leaders of the execution force that occupied Karenu Village, he is a remarkable man who acquired powerful magical talent and advanced martial arts.

If he had not been hit by the attacks of the Arqvist territory army's golems and scatter-shot crossbows, he likely would have achieved long-term effective control of Karenu Village as intended. In one sense, he is a pitiful person.

・Viscount Barassen

Appears by name only. The patron of Baronet Adrau and the former patron of Baron Viowulf Rosbroke.

To resolve the food shortages plaguing his own territory and the territories of his protégés, he had them attack Karenu Village.

He had the territorial infringement carried out under the pretext of saving his people who suffered from hunger; there is also a background where the area around Karenu Village was originally a buffer zone, but a Baron Wikander from several generations ago established a village there and exerted effective control.

Therefore, it is not that this Viscount Barassen is a complete villain. That said, he is not a good person either.
